Artist Statement
The work I create is informed by the human condition, and the exploration of meaning in our routines, experiences, and objects we encounter in our daily life. This approach is influenced by my interest in the ways we seek identity and (dis)comfort, or long for a place to call home. These elements play a critical role in shaping our experiences over time and directly impact the way we live and exist in our bodies. These ideas take form in my work through the re-contextualization of household objects and jewelry tropes, signs and symbols from the natural world, and corporeal elements.
